World Refugee Day 2026

On 20 June 2026, DAJI-UNHCR, in collaboration with PUCL Rajasthan and NFIW, commemorated World Refugee Day 2026 at Sharada Bhawan, Samagra Sewa Sangh, Jaipur. The event brought together around 150 participants, including members of the refugee community, civil society representatives and young interns, providing a platform for meaningful discussions on inclusion, dignity and solidarity. The programme began with a welcome dance by young community members, followed by opening remarks from the DAJI Director and addresses by civil society representatives, community youth and interns on the significance of World Refugee Day. Community leaders were recognised for their continued support and contribution over the years. The event also celebrated the strength and resilience of the refugee community through cultural performances, joint singing and presentations by children, who showcased their talents through dance, songs, speeches and poetry. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and refreshments for all participants. The event highlighted the importance of partnership, community participation and collective action in creating a more inclusive society while reaffirming a shared commitment to supporting refugees with dignity, respect and hope.
