A Vocational Training Centre was inaugurated at the Transit Camp in Matia, Goalpara, Assam, on December 30, 2024, with an aim to promote skill development, mental well-being, and productive work among inmates. This initiative is led by DAJI in collaboration with the District Administration of Goalpara and the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Goalpara, with support from the Mariwala Health Initiative.
The centre was officially opened by Shri Nabanita Pathak, ACS, ADC of Goalpara, in the presence of DLSA representatives: Shri Anowar Hussain, Shri Debojit Adhikary, Smt. Arpana Nath, Smt. Manju Patgiri, and the Jailor of the Transit Camp, Shri Mintu Rajbongshi.
