On 21 May 2026, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Bongaigaon, Assam, in collaboration with the Development and Justice Initiative (DAJI), Abhayapuri, organized an Awareness and Outreach Programme at Kirtanpara Gaon Panchayat, Abhayapuri, to create awareness on the NALSA (Legal Services to Persons with Mental Illness and Persons with Intellectual Disabilities) Scheme, 2025 and the NALSA (Child-Friendly Legal Services for Children) Scheme, 2024. The programme brought together legal professionals, mental health practitioners and community members for discussions on child rights, free legal aid services, mental health, intellectual disability and available support mechanisms. Through interactive sessions, participants gained valuable information on legal entitlements, child protection, access to free legal services and the support systems available for vulnerable individuals and their families.
